Play Card Games

Card games have been around from the 9th Century, in different types and forms. With its earliest records mentioned in Chinese history. The game played with cards then was known as The Leaf Game.

This game was nothing like the card games of today. The cards then bore instructions and directions for the players, about their winning or loss. The playing cards developed into suits and printing began only by the 1200s during the Ming Dynasty Period of China. Records from the Ming Dynasty and from 15th Century AD point towards a more relevant type of card games, that we play today.

Today, there are a total of 52 printed cards & one extra Joker card. The 52 cards are equally divided into 4 suits, namely, Spades, Hearts, Clubs and Diamonds. Each suit of 13 cards, contains 9 pip cards, I.e. Cards with numbers, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10. The remaining 4 cards are known as Face Cards, which are; Jack, King, Queen and Ace. All these cards together are referred to as a Deck of Cards.

A standard card deck can be used to play variety of card games. Some of the very famous ones are Black Jack, Poker, Rummy, Patience and so on. These games are played throughout the world on very large scales. These card games are typically played at Clubs, Casinos and even casually. The games are commonly played for money that is sometimes in the form of chips.
